How can I make a second call without having to dial my ISP again?
Without hanging up the phone after the first call, press the button on the YAP Jack once and the voice will prompt you to continue your current session.

No. All you need to do is change that one piece of information.

What
do I do if I need to dial a 9 before the ISP dialup number?
Enter the 9 when you enter the ISP local access number in the configuration menu. Enter 9 * number #. The * acts as a pause in the dialing.

How
can I disable call waiting? To disable call waiting press the button on the YAP Jack, press 5 for the configuration menu, then press 8 to get to the EXTENDED MENU. Next, press 25 on the phone keypad. This will allow you to enter the call waiting disabling code (usually this number is "*70" [without the quotes]. This number may vary depending where you live). After you enter in the code, activate the code by typing in 26 on the phone. A second method of disabling call waiting is to enter in *70 prior to the ISP dialup number.

Once
I enter in the phone number that I am dialing, hit the pound sign,
and hang up, it takes about 40 seconds until the unit rings me back.
This is completely normal. The unit requires approximately 40 seconds to dial up to the Internet, establish the connection and then connect to the Net2Phone servers. Note that if it takes more than 2 minutes to connect odds are it will not connect at all.

Can I make calling card calls (Phone-to-Phone) with my YAP account information (from the back of my YAP Time Card)?
Sure! Use your account number and PIN to make long distance calls and continue to rack up the savings.

How do I buy time to use with my YAP Jack? The YAP Jack comes with a $10 card to get you started. Once you use up that money, you can either buy more time cards at your local YAP product retailer or you can recharge your account online (with a credit card) in our recharge area.

do I know how much money I have left in my account? After the YAP Jack rings back to signify an established connection, the YAP Jack will announce your remaining balance. You can also click here and enter your account information to retrieve your balance.

Can I leave my YAP Jack plugged into the wall jack all the time? Yes. The YAP Jack is designed to stay connected to your telephone line and will not interfere with your regular phone calls. You can also use your YAP Jack on the same line as an answering machine.

Can I connect my YAP Jack to a digital PBX? No. The YAP Jack is not compatible with a digital PBX line and may be damaged if connected to a digital PBX line. If you wish to use your YAP Jack with a digital PBX phone system, you must use an analog-to-digital modem converter.

Will my cordless phone work with the YAP Jack? Yes. Cordless phones are compatible with the YAP Jack. Simply connect the cord to the same phone jack that you would a regular phone.

I'm
having problems entering username and password with the alphanumeric
key codes. What can I do?
Though it might be tricky at first, all it takes is practice. For your convenience we have supplied each unit with this easy to follow chart that shows exactly what each number button can be used for. For example, to enter user name or password "jimbo" Press: 55# 4444# 66# 222# 6666# # (j) (i) (m) (b) (o) (The # key will save the entry you have made).

My ISP requires me to enter in the "@" symbol and the domain name when I log on. Does the YAP Jack accommodate for that type of scenario?
Yes it does. When you are entering your login information, just press the "1" key on the telephone keypad 6 times for the "@" symbol and 2 times for the "." (period/dot) in the domain name.

When
I enter in my account number, the unit tells me that the account
number is invalid. What is wrong? There are two possibilities. The most likely is that you entered it in incorrectly. However, if you have an older Net2Phone account number that is 12 digits, this too will return the error message. Contact YAP technical support to obtain a different account number

After
I enter in my ISP information (login and/or password) and I review
what I entered, some characters were not saved.
When entering the ISP login and/or password information, after each numeric character that you enter, you must hit the pound key (#) to make sure that the character is saved. If you have entered the character correctly the voice prompt will return "x entered" (where x is the alphanumeric key that you entered).

Can I use a fax machine with my YAP Jack? No. You can not use a fax machine with your YAP Jack.

How do I dial a number with the YAP Jack?
As with all YAP products, you should dial as though you are in the United States. Therefore when calling a number in New Jersey, for example, dial 1-201-555-1212. To call a number outside of North America dial 011 + country code + city code + number. Remember to always end the number dialed with the pound sign (#) to signify to the unit to initiate the call.

I use AOL as my Internet Service Provider (ISP) but it does not work with the YAP Jack. The YAP Jack will not currently work with AOL as the YAP Jack requires an ISP that utilizes Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP).

My YAP Jack has very low audio. What might be the problem? There are two things that one should check if they are experiencing low audio on the YAP Jack. First and foremost, check the volume on the phone. The second possibility is that the unit was fried by putting the wall wire into the phone port and vice versIf this is in fact the case the unit can not be repaired.

What number do I call when I want to call another YAP Jack? The account number on the back of the time card that came with your YAP Jack is also your virtual number. If someone wants to call your YAP Jack or you want to call their YAP Jack, one of you will need to dial the other's virtual number.

Do I need a computer to use a YAP Jack? No, the YAP jack works through a standard phone line. It dials your ISP and rings you back to complete your call.

Most likely, some of the information was not entered correctly. In order to check your ISP information you must go to the configuration menu by pressing 5, and then press 7. This will read off all of the information that was entered previously so as to ensure that all of your information is correctly entered.

Sometimes the internal software that runs the YAP Jack is upgraded to fix bugs. However, you will only need to download these updates if you are having a problem with your YAP Jack.

Does the YAP Jack work internationally? Yes, the YAP Jack will work anywhere in the world as long as your internet provider uses the PPP standard. (An intentional power adapter may be necessary)
